Food and Fridge Management

Gracious Care believes that the provision of a healthy, nutritious and balanced diet for every customer is of vital importance.  We  also believe that, concerning food provided within the home of the Gracious Care customer, whether brought in by a visitor or provided by the family, there is a duty to ensure that all staff and the customer is kept as safe as possible from food poisoning and food-related illness. We aim to achieve this by the adoption of high standards of food hygiene and food preparation. This includes help with the cooking, storing, preparing or serving food.

We will promote best practice and encourage customers and their families to monitor the expiry dates of food. If necessary, this can be added to the care plan.

Any dietry needs for allergy, religious reasons or personal preference can also be added to the care plan.
