Companionship

At Gracious Care we recognise that loneliness can impact all aspects of our health including our mental health. Being lonely can result in depression leading to other medical conditions. The good news is this can be avoided if you seek companionship. We can easily provide a friendly face to chat to and our team can plan a series of outings giving you something to look forward to - thus ending the cycle of loneliness. It’s amazing the difference a 30 minute visit can make, or longer if required.

Hospitals can be daunting places but when a visit is required, a companion from Gracious Care can assist, reassure and calm. One of our fully trained staff can arrange transport, be with you whilst you wait to be seen, accompany you home and even make you a nice cup of tea if you like. If you have mobility problems we can help you use your equipment (for example, pushing a wheelchair) to make your hospital visit that bit less stressful.

And for a stay in hospital our companionship service could make all the difference, particularly if friends and relatives aren't available. A friendly face at visiting time will dispel the tedium with a chat over a game of cards, a jigsaw puzzle or even a board game.
