Here at Gracious Care, we have always been aware of just how difficult most people find it to navigate the care industry. What with statutory services including Home from Hospital and community services, different funding options and a multitude of providers associated with care, who do you go to for help and advice? How would you navigate all the levels of care and support? The jargon some providers and statutory services use only makes an already stressful situation more opaque.

From the time when Christine first established Gracious Care, enquiries came in from the elderly, or families and friendship groups of those considering whether or not they needed care. Who would they be able to turn to for help. These folk, are often in crisis and at a loss to find a way through the maze of apparently conflicting information. Christine was determined that she would draw on her considerable experience to help with advice, regardless of whether or not the enquirers were intending to be a customer of Gracious Care.

It will be immediately clear why we would get involved in helping to fill these inpenetrable forms. We help people claim attendance allowance by assisting them to complete the 40 or so pages of questions. We give advice about claiming benefits such as the mental impairment criteria for claiming a reduction in council tax.

Almost daily we fight for our customers to get the correct type of aids to help them remain as independent as possible. We assist with getting GP appointments and basic tests such as urine tests done quickly to reduce the use of antibiotics.

We at Gracious Care are passionate about maintaining independence. If a service isn't required, we'll tell you. However, if you are not getting the support you're entitled to, we'll fight tooth and nail to make sure you do. Always remembering, assistance accepted isn't a sign of weakness but of strength. There are many things we can't do for ourselves. Perhaps you're not an airline pilot, but you might want to use the help of one to go on holiday!

And if you're our customer you already know that our support extends to your family as we help you all to help our customer.
